Each year, the Ohio Environmental Council offers unique outings for you to enjoy the wonders of Ohio. Come canoeing with us, explore a tallgrass prairie, or wade into a National Scenic River, all led by expert naturalists and environmentalists. Along the way you'll have fun, meet other nature lovers, and learn how to help protect our natural resources.

Canoe Float at Old Woman Creek August 8, 10 a.m.
 Experience the beauty of the Great Lakes’ only freshwater estuary, located in Erie County. Enjoy up close viewing of wetland birds and plants, and learn about Old Woman Creek conservation efforts. A limited number of canoes are available so bring your own if you have one. Be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet!
**Note that Old Woman Creek has a strict policy requiring that all canoeists be 10 years of age or older.
Location: 2514 Cleveland Road East (St. Rt. 6), Huron, OH, 44839. Meet at the canoe launch.

Headlands Tour with Lunch September 12, 10 a.m.
Limited to OEC's Legacy Club & Capitol Club members.
 Let’s head to the beach in Lake County! On the shores of Lake Erie, we’ll explore the Headlands Dunes State Nature Preserve. The headlands provide excellent views of unusual coastal plain plants, migrating birds, and monarch butterflies. We’ll end the day with a catered lunch.
