The Ohio Environmental Council is your voice on environmental issues at all levels of policymaking – the General Assembly, the Governor Office and executive branch agencies, Ohio’s Congressional Delegation, and local governments.
OEC tracks all legislation relevant to Ohio's air, land, and water. We then assess the legislation’s impact on environmental protection, and how it may pertain to enforcing existing laws, funding programs, and strengthening environmental protections.
On behalf of Ohio's environment-conservation community, OEC staff:
- Meet with local, state, and federal lawmakers and their staff to brief them on issues and solutions;
- Communicate with the Governor's office regarding environmental issues;
- Testify before legislative committees to advocate strongly on issues; and
- Regularly engage state and federal agencies, especially regarding how laws are being implemented.
Check back often for updates and analysis on relevant legislation as it is introduced, debated in committees, and eventually voted on by Ohio policymakers.
