Fair Districts Volunteer

Position Title: Fair Districts Volunteer

Schedule: flexible, minimum of 2 hours per week commitment required

Location: Columbus, Ohio

The OEC has partnered with Fair Districts Ohio to collect petitions to help build a fair democracy that works for voters. We need help maintaining petition logs and completing other clerical tasks.

Description of Position

The OEC is seeking a detail-oriented volunteer to assist with data entry, inventory, deliveries, and office organization. Tasks may include:

  • Numbering redistricting petitions
  • Logging petitions in a spreadsheet as they are returned
  • Delivering petitions to Fair Districts Ohio
  • Checking and logging inventory using Google Forms
  • Organizing storage spaces and moving boxes

The volunteer will have opportunities to be part of a nonprofit organization, attend staff meetings, policy meetings, and get to know staff.

The OEC’s mission is to secure healthy air, land, and water for all who call Ohio home. The OEC is a statewide, nonprofit environmental advocacy organization with a full-time staff of 19, a 20-member Board of Directors, more than 100 group and 3,000 individual members, and thousands of e-activists.

The OEC is Ohio’s leading advocate for fresh air, clean water, and sustainable land use and has a widely respected 45-year history of innovation, pragmatism, and success. Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Access to a laptop
  • Proficiency in Google spreadsheets and forms
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and exert oneself physically
  • Passion for environmental protection
