Development Intern

Time Commitment: Flexible, 20 hours minimum per week

Schedule: flexible over 10-12 weeks, summer 2018

Location:   Columbus, Ohio

Today’s political and cultural landscape presents unique opportunities for marketing environmental solutions. Help the OEC identify new opportunities, as well as capitalize on existing opportunities, to find supporters of our mission. By growing our membership and donor base, the OEC will continue to build resources to make an impact on Ohio’s environment!

Responsibilities  

The OEC is seeking a detail-oriented volunteer intern with great communication skills to assist with fundraising efforts. Tasks may include:

  • Update and maintain Salsa CRM database
  • Maintain donor relationships by making thank you contacts, inquiries to update information, and other stewardship contacts
  • Prepare mailing and event invitation lists
  • Create mini fundraising campaigns
  • Support the generation of mailed appeals
  • Research donor prospects

The intern will have opportunities to be part of a nonprofit organization, attending staff meetings, policy meetings, and getting to know staff.

This internship is a volunteer, unpaid position.

Qualifications

  • Interest in learning about nonprofits, development, and environmental issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated and flexible 
  • Strong editing and data management skills are highly desirable
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite
