The OEC has defended the state’s wetland regulatory
program from assaults at the Statehouse like the infamous
“Bulldozer Amendment”, educates citizens on how
to participate in the permitting process, and supports training
for volunteers to get out in the field to monitor Ohio’s

Ohio’s antiquated Ditch Laws desperately need to be reformed
and an environmental ethic must be incorporated into the decisions
made by conservancy districts and county commissioners. The
OEC researches legal issues and builds support for changing
Ohio’s laws that allow rivers and streams to be turned
into a ditch that’s straight as an arrow and stripped
