Vernal Pool Workshops

See the salamanders! Hear the frog calls!

Join the Ohio Environmental Council and Ohio Vernal Pool Partnership (OVPP), for the annual Vernal Pool Workshops.

These workshops offer backyard scientists, nature lovers, and landowners a peek at local vernal pools. Learn the many benefits of these pools and how you can help protect them.

Vernal pools are unique seasonal wetlands that form in late winter and early spring, and disappear in fall. They are home to a diverse collection of amphibians, insects, and crustaceans, including the dynamic fairy shrimp.
