Learn how to work with lawmakers
to effectively
advocate for the environment.
The
Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) has an exciting new workshop
that we would like to share with your organization. We are
currently meeting with groups to educate individuals to
be confident, effective citizen lobbyists. These “Green
Teams”—each made up of average citizens—use
their skills encourage state leaders to support legislation
that benefits Ohio’s environment, protects community
heritage, and encourages public health and environmental
safety. We hope that your group will host a workshop for
your members. This program is completely free and will better
equip you members to engage and influence government leaders
from the local, county, and state levels.
No experience is necessary
to form a Green Team. The OEC will provide all Green Team
members with information and training on how to become an
effective citizen lobbyist. This workshop is focused on
building good relationships with lawmakers to yield positive
results for conservationists, sportsmen, and environmental
groups. Strong policies for the public good are rooted in
strong relationships between average citizens and their
government representatives. Learn
