2009 Environmental Lobby Day
On March 31, nearly two hundred Ohio citizen-lobbyists descended on the Ohio Statehouse to voice their concerns on behalf of the environment.
Through formal meetings and casual conversations over meals, the OEC, Sierra Club, and environmentalists, naturalists, and conservationists from across Ohio brought important environmental-conservation issues directly to lawmakers and state agency representatives.
At the morning's breakfast, Governor Ted Strickland stopped by to say a few words, highlighting the passenger rail provisions in the pending transportation budget bill, which he would sign into law later that week. At the end of the day, participants joined lawmakers and staffers at a relaxing closing reception.

Environmental-Conservation Briefing Book
To assist participants in speaking with their Ohio State Representatives and Senators, the Ohio Environmental Council and the Ohio League of Conservation Voters have developed the 2009 Environmental-Conservation Briefing Book.
Each section contains background information, policy recommendations, and contact information for experts in each issue area. The innovative ideas and thoughtful policy
proposals are great starting points for discussions that can help Ohio chart a path to a bright world to come.
